Winter has arrived

Today is technically the 1st day of winter here so normally I would be very depressed and I would of been if not for this beautiful and glorious sight right outside our front door this morning.

This picture was taken from our front porch. The water you see is called 'The Derwent River' and the mountain where the rainbow starts in front of is called 'Mt Wellington.'
Mt Wellington is our main mountain here in Tasmania so is generally referred to as just 'The Mountain'. It rises to 1271 m AHD over the city and is often incorrectly considered to be a dormant volcano.

Oh Gizmo,
My mom read in a book that when you see a rainbow, it's your guardian angel sending you a message that he/she is watching over you!! Isn't that a glorious sight?!!

Hi Gizmo,

That is a very pretty sight to have right out your front door! And what a nice beginning to winter.
